My (Simon Andersson) trip to Skövde, Sweden, for the HAISA 2024 (Human Aspects of Information Security & Assurance) Conference was both fun and interesting, and it left me inspired and motivated! I met up with my two co-authors in Skövde, and attended a variety of presentations and discussions, all focused on the human aspects of information security.
A key moment was presenting our paper, “To risk analyse, or not to risk analyse: That’s the question.” It sparked good discussion, and I received some valuable feedback from the audience. Perhaps especially so from those who do research in the field of information security risk management and assessment. The overall focus of the conference left me with new ideas and perspectives, especially regarding the future of risk assessment and how one can assist users with future challenges, such as even more infosec regulations that bring new compliance requirements.
I also had the chance to connect with others in the field, share ideas, and explore potential future collaborations. Overall, it was a positive trip that left me with new perspectives to apply to my research! It is always interesting to get to present one’s own research and to gain new and valuable perspectives from others.
Our paper will be published in the HAISA 2024 conference proceedings, which can be found here: https://link.springer.com/conference/haisa
