In the crisp autumn air of Umeå something special unfolded. On 18th September 2025, the stage was set for an event that bridged ideas, boundaries, and visions – a gathering where dreams of cross-border collaboration, cybersecurity, and sustainable futures converged. Stepping into Umeå Folkets Hus, one was met with possibility. People from different corners of the Aurora region gathered, carrying project ideas waiting to be kindled, partnerships waiting to be formed. Over lunch, laughter and introductions filled the air. Over coffee, sketches of how co-financing might work emerged, along with reflections on how regional bodies could partner across the sea. Execution was not the first thought – it was the spark of collaboration, the “what ifs?” that inspired everyone to think bigger.
The program had been carefully crafted to guide this energy. After a warm welcome, there was a chance to peel back the layers of what funding could do, and what regions themselves could contribute. Spaces were arranged to foster genuine connection. Travel solutions ensured that participants from afar could join. The moment truly belonged to those present – their conversations, their energy, their ideas…
By the time the closing words were spoken, something had shifted. Participants carried with them not just new contacts or concrete ideas, but inspiration. Being in a room where the energy of possibility pulsed made them believe that the challenges ahead – climate, borders, inequality – could indeed be met, together.
