About

Information Security and Cybersecurity

Researchers from different disciplines are brought together within CyberNorth to contribute to safe, efficient, and secure digital information management through applied research. Organizations, companies, commercial actors, the public sector, and several other sectors are included in the research projects that have been and are being conducted within the network.

The Network for information security and cyber security focuses on two directions: organizational information security and technical security technologies. Information security applies a human-technology-organizational perspective and has a broader focus. Cybersecurity focuses on critical infrastructure and applications in several related areas.

ISSUES – Information Security and digital Services for sUstainablE designS
2023-2025

CYNIC: Cyber Security in Innovation and Business Communication

2018-2021
Most businesses now rely on IT systems to run their operations, but in a world of hackers and malware, threats to digital security are ever-present. An initiative based in the northern Sweden and Finland cross-border area is providing SMEs in the region with deeper insight into – and increased awareness of – information and cyber security issues, and practical help to reduce risks. Through the CYNIC project, businesses can experience and evaluate solutions in two information security labs.
